Substation Onyx is a studio that houses Aric Fowler’s many endeavors within the realms of music, music technology, and audio engineering. We offer mix & master services and guitar pedals directly, and we also do PCB and DSP design work on special request.
Dr. Aric Fowler
Aric has spent over a decade working with music and audio in various roles. After playing guitar for several years, he experimented with upgrading his own instruments. Continued interest in music technology led him to pursue an education in electrical engineering. He holds a Master’s degree and a Ph. D in circuit design from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Aric is versed in analog & digital circuit design, DSP design, PCBA design, and ASIC chip design. He is also Substation Onyx’s resident mix & mastering engineer.
Emma Fowler
A majority of Emma’s musical journey has been spent with the clarinet and piano, but she’s recently taken up drums as well. Flexibility and quick takeup are Emma’s game, making her an ideal electrical engineer. She has completed a Master’s degree with a Ph. D in progress.
Emma is often the final line of defense in all Susbstation Onyx outputs, performing troubleshooting and quality control. She specializes in DSP design and systems engineering.
Substation Onyx
